There is no train station from the new airport and it's quite a long way to the train station.
Air Asia often have a cheap flight to Chiangmai and other domestic destinations. They fly from the same airport (same building)

why dont you fly in one direction then get the sleeper train back to BK. catch a taxi and stay in BK for a night or 2 then fly out to the islands??

I fleww with air asia and found it okay. warning dont get to Ko Lanta late as the last ferry is about 9 or 10pm. Miss it and you have to hire it which costs around £40!

Cheers Atpug, done Bangkok before and don't have enough time. I'll bear in mind about the ferry though.

Just booked flights but now don't arrive tilll 6.40pm, serves me right for hanging around. Donnie, can we still make the CM flight?
