Multiple entries and entries submitted of foul play will be disqualified. The promoter’s decision is final. 7. From all eligible entries, one winner and one runner up will be picked at random.
8. The winner will win a six-day trip to Rio for two people which comprises a six-day trip (including one travel day). The dates of this trip will be from Thursday August 4 until Tuesday August 9, 2016, so please ensure you are free on these dates before entering. DFS reserves right to change dates and/or travel requirements. Travel must be made through DFS’ agent, on a carrier of DFS’ choice.
9. The runner up will win a suite from the Britannia range which will include a 3 or 4 seater sofa, one armchair and a footstool. The runner-up will have a choice from grey, natural, plum or denim.
10. The main prize for the trip to Rio will include:
- round-trip, economy air travel to Rio de Janeiro on airlines selected by DFS in its sole discretion departing from such UK airport as DFS determines
- five nights accommodation (standard, double occupancy room) in the Windsor Martinique hotel in Rio de Janeiro. This hotel is subject to change and will be determined by DFS.
- all scheduled ground transportation in Rio between the airport and hotel and between the hotel and the sporting events/ Opening Ceremony.
- Breakfast at the hotel each morning of the stay
- One ticket each for the winner and the accompanying member to the 2016 Olympic Games™ Opening Ceremony
- One ticket each for the winner and the winning child to the 2016 Olympic Games™ Rugby, Rowing, Volleyball and Tennis Sporting Events
11. The trip must be taken according to the itinerary times and dates as stated or otherwise directed by DFS, failing which the prize will be forfeited.
12. No element of the prize is divisible or may be awarded separately.
13. The winner and accompanying member will be responsible for having any required travel-related documents (including valid photo ID and any required passport or visa), correct vaccinations prior to departure as well as fulfilling any/all traveling requirements.
14. Each Prize includes only those items listed and does not include additional ground or other transportation not expressly included above, car rental or rentals, expenses of any kind, personal, medical, health, hospital, travel and trip cancellation insurance, airport or other taxes and fees, gratuities, excess baggage fees, communication charges, meals and beverages not expressly detailed above, in-room expenses, souvenirs, sightseeing and any other expenses not expressly stated above.
15. The winner may be required to provide a credit card at time of hotel check-in to cover hotel incidentals. Tickets are subject to certain terms and conditions as specified thereon. Seat locations will be determined by DFS. Winner and accompanying member must comply with all venue rules and regulations. Failure to do so may result in forfeiture of the Prize. In the event DFS is unable to provide tickets to the Rio 2016 Olympic Games™ in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil for any reason beyond the reasonable control of DFS, the promoter will supply an alternative prize of equal or greater value (and the Promoter reserves the right to supply an alternative prize which it deems (in its sole discretion) to be of equal or greater value. Winner may not substitute, assign or transfer the Prize or any element.
16. The award of each prize remains conditional (even after notification) upon satisfactory verification by the Promoter and DFS which shall include (but is not limited to) the following:
- the receipt by DFS of properly completed winner-forms such as an affidavit or declaration of eligibility and compliance, a liability release (releasing, to the extent lawfully permitted, DFS and those of its related companies and their respective franchisees and agencies concerned directly or indirectly with the prize or any feature or element relating to it or to this Promotion, from responsibility or liability for claims from the winner and their guest arising out of the prize), a publicity release (authorising DFS to film, photograph and record the winner and guest during the prize-trip and to use the content produced for promotional purposes) and a background check form (which may include a review of employment, driving, civil and criminal history or otherwise to determine in the discretion of Trinity Mirror, DFS and the IOC that the award to the winner and their guest is not likely to bring any of them or the Competition into public disrepute, contempt, scandal or ridicule).
If a background check is failed or any form is not received by DFS within the time limit or in the manner stipulated, the Promoter reserves the right to invalidate the winning entry and related prize-claim and disqualify the winner as well as reserving the right to select an alternative winner (but without obligation to do so).
17. Winners will be notified on Wednesday June 1, 2016 by telephone. Several attempts will be made to contact winners. Failure to acknowledge the prize by 17:00 on Monday June 6, 2016 will result in the prize being forfeited to the next eligible winner.
18. By participating in this promotion, you agree to release, discharge and hold Trinity Mirror harmless from any and all injuries, liability, losses and damages of any kind resulting from your participation in this promotion (save that nothing shall limit our liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by our negligence).
19. No applications from agents, third parties, organised groups or applications automatically generated by computer will be accepted. No incomplete or corrupted entries will be accepted. Entries will only be accepted if they comply with all entry instructions.
20. Responsibility is not accepted for entries lost, damaged or delayed as a result of any network, computer hardware or software failure of any kind.
21. The winner and accompanying member may be filmed / photographed / interviewed by Trinity Mirror. The winner on behalf of the winner and accompanying member grants both Trinity Mirror and DFS a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sub-licensable and transferable licence to use, reproduce, distribute and make derivative works of such footage / photographs / testimonials in any media and through any media channel.
22. The winner and accompanying member may be required to participate in publicity arising from this promotion.
