1st central cancelling car insurance costs

Options
Have car insurance with 1st central that was recently renewed (4th April) but I will be selling my car due to personal circumstances so I won't be needing car insurance anymore and wish to cancel.

Before I cancel, as lines are currently closed was just wondering what the costs will be?

Is it like a phone contract where I will have to pay X amount times by however many months are remaining on the insurance (this would seem harsh)

I know there is a cancellation fee of £50 with 1st central but I simply can't afford to pay the £1700 remaining balance which would be the remaining 11 months times the £142 I am paying currently monthly?

Help!?

The 50 £ would be to pay obviously but i presume that there is normally an admin fee
. Can you see this in your documents at all. But I cant see it being the full balance to be honest

Im surprised the lines are closed, most are open on a Saturday till at least 8pm

What happens regarding refunds following your early cancellation will be set out in your policy.

(Unless you have claimed during the year you normally won't have to pay the full year.)
