Here's what one of the operators hold about you - see pages 6 and 7.

Interesting that this mob hold stuff that you don't get to see, CATO, salary as supplied in applications ... not to mention accounts numbers.
So my previous suggestion stands. The CRAs could easily ensure that non-valid financial associations are removed. But they are a rogue industry, so they won't.0 -
You simply need to email them to say you are no longer financially associated and they will remove it. I've done this a few years ago and it was very simple, just give them the name and address that you last knew was correct for them.0

Why do the CRAs not manage this in an equitable manner? I guess for the same reason that they used to blacklist entire properties, until they were dragged kicking and screaming into a fairer regime where only individuals are blacklisted.
What Blacklists? You always mention these imaginary blacklists that don't exist lol.0 -

Mentioned before. The files the CRAs maintain about you become de-facto blacklists if they contain just a single negative mark. Or perhaps more accurately, one negative mark, it's a grey list, more than one and it's a blacklist. As a result, the CRAs maintain blacklists.0 -

There's an article on the BBC News website from yesterday that suggests most people are unaware of what's going on with credit referencing. Joe Public has no relationship with the CRAs, so why should he have to ask them to remove a false financial association? Chances are, in many cases he won't even know the CRAs are publishing lies about him.0 -

But a blacklist would mean that anyone on the list would be refused credit and this is definetly not the case. Each lender will review the information in the credit report and base their decision on that.
3 months ago showed someone how to check their credit report online for free. On the credit report it showed they had 5 defaulted mobile phone accounts with the same company, a defaulted credit card with a balance of just under £900 that has gone to debt collectors and a couple of bright house loans (all this information is correct).
A month ago they applied for a phone contract with EE for a galaxy S7 Edge. They got the contract and now have the phone!.
So if you think more than one negative mark is a "blacklist" then think again! !!!0 -

My reply was directed at the OP who obviously knows about credit reports and how to access them.
I'm also know that financial education is seriously lacking in schools and having conversations with people I know shows just how much incorrect information people pass to each other about financial products and how applying for credit works.0 -
