Safest way to buy Gold and silver coins

Hi all, I need some advice as to where best start my research into buying some physical Gold (not ETF traded funds or Future Gold contracts or Spot Gold) something like Sovereigns or Krugerrands. I only mention these two because over the years I have head the names.

With so much mis-selling within the financial industry I'm always sceptical about websites selling gold/silver. Has MSE any articles about the best/safests/most efficient way to buy physical silver or gold. Or do you know of any other websites that I could trust for some unbiased information to help me carefully make some decisions.

Thanks in advance for any advice offered.

Lots of very reputable Companies to buy from: I have used Atkinsons & Bullion by Post. Both very good & offer advice on their sites.
Nice to have some Gold outside of the financial system - doesn't earn dividends though.

I can personally recommend from experience -

    Atkinsons
    https://atkinsonsbullion.com/

    Baird and Co-
    http://www.goldline.co.uk/goldsavers.page

    Hatton garden metals-

p.s. dont forget UK legal tender coins are capital gains tax free so depending on the quantity you are intending on purchasing you may be better off going for sovereigns or Britannias over Krugerrands.

I very much doubt MSE would go near that sort of thing.

I think you need to do some more research!

If you are near London and want a walk in service ATS Bullion next to the Savoy might suit. Prices not so keen as Baird & Co but no postage. Would agree with dunstonh, you need to do more research

As demand for gold grows - how does it fare as an investment to protect against inflation

    I've been Money Tipped!
I use coininvest.com. Been buying bits and bobs every year from them for about 5 years now. I just get a sovereign each year and whatever silver coins float my boat that year. Not for investment but just for personal enjoyment and collecting. They're based in Germany but very competitive and ultra reliable.
