Applying for a budgeting loan but I don't know my ex's address

Hi there.

Well me and my ex have split up so I won't be going there after all.

I am applying for a budgeting loan because I need a new bed and I am only applying for the minimum amount.

The problem is, there is a question that says:
Has a partner or an ex-partner received Income
Support, income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance,
income-related Employment and Support
Allowance, Pension Credit or payment on account
of one of these benefits or entitlements for you,
in the last 26 weeks?

Well he didn't claim it for me, I added him onto my claim and his money went into my bank, so do I need to to fill in this question?

If I do, it asks me for his address. I do not know his address and he doesn't live in the UK anymore, I can't get in touch with him either because he has blocked me in every possible way. So what can I do?

Even though you added him to your claim he was still in receipt of the benefit so you need to answer 'yes'.

As regards the address then put 'address unknown as ex partner has moved abroad'.

The reason for the question is simply to enable someone to fulfill the 26 weeks on benefits rule if the current (new) claim to one of those benefits is for less than 26 weeks and the person was previously included on a claim made by the ex-partner. The two periods can be added together to achieve the 26 weeks required to fulfill the qualifying period. The reason for the request for the address is simply to ensure they are checking the records of the correct person (the ex partner).

I don't read the question as you having to answer "Yes" and then provide an address or further details for the ex-partner. Answering No is strictly accurate if you were the claimant. You can add the additional information though if you wish but it's not the purpose behind the question.
