No acknowledgement of ppi claim

After following all the good advice of this site, I submitted my ppi claim via post with all back up evidence etc and sent recorded delivery and it was signed for by the bank. 8 weeks later, I haven't received any type of acknowledgement or communication from them, so can I now refer this to the FOS ?

You should receive acknowledgement of the complaint within a few days. Then you should receive holding letters periodically until the complaint outcome is given.
As you have not received anything, this would suggest they have not got it.
You can go to the FOS, but once the FOS find out the provider have nothing, they will tell the provider to look at the complaint and the process effectively starts from there. So, to save time, go to the providers complaint team and ask them what the status is.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Thanks for quick response, however, as they did sign to say they received my letter, and me being cynical, is this not another way the banks can delay looking at and repaying ?0

No. Probably because it had to be signed for, rather than going to the right department, it ended up being stuck on the receptionist's desk somewhere.
Send it again, but this time by normal post.0 -

It does them nothing to delay. Did you send it to the right address?
Plus, remember that post can be signed as delivered by the postman. It doesnt mean it ended up in the right place. Especially, if the complaints address is a PO Box.
However, none of this really matters as you either contact them now and find out if a new complaint needs to be made or you make the same complaint to the FOS who will then tell the bank what you told them and they will give the bank a chance to look at it.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Ok will go back and start again with the bank, but whilst writing, in brief this ppi is for a MUDI, and the bank made me have it, but unknown to me linked it to their mortgage only, but nothing written in any of the documents provided to say that and I've got the lot, so when I changed mortgage provider after 5 years , I didn't stop the payment protection, as I had been paying into it for 5 years. 8 years later, the provider of the ppi wrote and told me that the insurance would now cover any mortgage provider. There are other issues as well which I won't go into, but your thoughts would be appreciated, as I've not seen anything else like this within this forum.0
