What as a "1st Large" stamp value?

I have some stamps that say "1st Large". On the Royal Mail website there are 4 weights for large letters for 100g, 250g, 500g, 750g, all at different prices.
So what is my stamp worth? I have a letter to send that weighs 296g... is this stamp too little...? Can't see on the website where it tells me this.

As long as it just says "large" and "first class" then it should be worth 96p.
I.e fine for a large letter weighing <100g
as your letter weighs more than 250g but less than 500g then postage for a large letter is £1.71
you therefore should be ok to use 2 stamps to cover the cost, you will obviously have overpaid slightly but if you have them spare then it should be fine.0 -
Further to Paul's post you can use any stamps to make up the postage value. Your LL stamp could be used with other stamps to send a Small Parcel for instance.0
