Default notice after IVA start date
Hi, any help gratefully received
I successfully completed my IVA June 2015, i signed up to Equifax in the last week or so and found that two of my creditors showed defaults against me after the commencement of my IVA in 2010. I believe that legally they cannot do this? How do i go about getting this rectified on my credit report as both are showing on there and with outstanding balances!!
any advice or help would be great
Many thanks!!

Hi,
you need to send a standard letter with the relevant details to the data controller for the bank, credit provider. Don't bother sending anything to the customer services or speaking with them as they'll not be aware of the process.
The standardised letters are available on the martin lewis site and maybe from the link provided by the previous respondee. You can search on google for the recent list of addresses for all the data controllers. ...the link on here is a year out of date i think.
I used this recently for bank of ireland showing a default and ballance after 6 years, and the entry was removed within 2 weeks but the standard letter gives you details of process and how long they have to action the request.0 -
The above info i have gievn is correct for removal after 6 years etc but i believe default dates can vary if the creditor was not aware of your situation..In this case they can note their notifcation date as the default on their credit provision. Even so after 6 years since the actual IVA commencment date you can request its removal as detailed above, along with a copy of your completion notification etc0
