Morning all,
What is a typical cost of a construction engineer?
I was told it is £200-300 for some calculation like removing walls etc and where ever i am contacting I am quoted in excess of £800 plus Vat??

Talking to your mate Fred about these costs is useless to be honest unless he is a qualified structural engineer and you would get what you pay for here, Why not try calling another one and if the figures are the same then you know Fred was wrong.0

I've never heard that before lol. Is it just me that finds that a bit odd?

Seems every structural engineer is busy at the moment, can't say I've seen any quotes as low as 400quid for anything recently - we've actually stopped advising clients of what we would expect engineers fees to be as they have become very unpredictable - get quotes for your work from the people carrying out the work, it's the only way to knowThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. They would not tend to do the actual building work themselves and would be assessing what can and cannot be done to suitable building regulations.
You would mainly use them on larger projects.0 -
