Easy jet using expired passport for internal uk flight

Travelling Belfast to Bristol next week, passports expired last September. The website states you can use out of date passport for ID on internal flights. Has anyone done this? Husband can use drivers licence, but I'm stuck begrudging paying for fast tracking passport just for a quick jaunt across the water!

i don't think you need a passport for an internal flight. I once left my passport in a London hotel and only noticed when I went to get the flight from Heathrow to Edinburgh, I went to the customer services and explained what had happened I was told not to worry, I did not have any other form of ID except my credit card and ticket and it was not a problem.0

I think different airlines ask for different levels of ID. Even if it's on Easyjet's site I would phone to double check to be sure this is up-to-date.0

My 13year old daughter is flying from Manchester to I.O.M in summer . She has an expired passport and is flying without parents but with her 25 year old cousin.
I checked all the small print which said no I.D required but being cautious a quick tweet to Flybe confirmed this.
All around the houses just to say "give them a tweet!" They were very quick with their reply.Life is like a bath, the longer you are in it the more wrinkly you become.0 -
Yes, we took MIL to Jersey a few years ago and she used an expired passport as photo ID, which is all that is required.0
