Hi all,
I parked on a side road in Manchester Spinningfields area the first weekend of May at around 6:15pm. It's just down from the magistrates road and is a side road with double yellow lines barring one section at the entrance to the road on one side which has no lines at all for about a 12m stretch. I parked there and there were no signs on that side of the road which indicated I could not park there. I have recently received a letter from them for £100 parking fine with my cars details and the date/time of "offence", with only a photo of my front license plate which doesn't even show the road or kirb or even the wheels. Supposedly they used ANPR, CCTV or photographs however there was a car parked behind me who could have had their plate blocked by my car, and it does not look like a photo taken manually by an attendent (plus no ticket was left).
They got my details from the DVLA and are supposedly an "IPC Independent Parking Committee.
I'd really appreciate the help as I am a self-funded post grad student and £100 is a lot of money for me at the moment, especially if unjust.
Thank-you in advance everyone

A request to the highways at Manchester City Council is also needed to find out what is public road and what isn't.
No apparent signage!

@Pappa Golf - is owd Trev involved here and/or with ESPEL.Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

There is no indication at all as you turn off the main A34 into Left Bank that this is a private road. Has the PPC changed? The thread title is ES Parking Enforcement but the single tiny sign visible on Google Street View is UKPC.0
