Old Forum vs New Forum

Doing some research into internet forums - interested in what people like about the new style forum, that was lacking on the old green forum. And on the flip side, what do you miss about the old forum that you wish could be incorporated into the new forum?

Some things that were "lacking on the old green forum" were :
eye strain, headaches, frustration about a lack of basic functionality.
(Rather explains why for many of us it is still the current version.)

And on the flip side, what do you miss about the old forum that you wish could be incorporated into the new forum?

The design. The colour scheme. The functionality.

You are unable (now) to see the numerous threads on the special boards set up by MSE to get user input as the new design was being trialled, as MSE decided to pull them.
(Lots of those problems - evident at an early stage - are still present.)
