Intimidated Over Divorce Issues

Ok I have decided that I don't want to spend the rest of my life with the man I married.
He goes out drinking every night and he has been getting a friend of his to intimidate me by calling round to my house etc.
He does not want me to get anything and just wants me to leave without taking anything.
I can prove the intimidation and I have been threatened with harm by this friend of his if I take anything.
We have been married sixteen years this july so surely half of our property would be mine?.
The mortgage was paid for 4 years ago and the deeds are in a safe at the house. What should I do?
Britain is great but Manchester is greater

I believe I pointed you in a certain direction on your earlier thread about your step-son and his relationship difficulties.
Here's what I posted on that thread:

In reality, all the financial questions in the above post could be answered by Googling.
When a very good friend of mine found herself in the same position as bluelass's stepson's ex-partner I.e. her husband had been sha**ing somebody else, we worked out the amount of maintenance - and what benefits she would be entitled to - without the need for sharing the details on MSE.
My response in your situation is exactly the same.
    Google what your rights are.

I also suggested your stepson see a solicitor on a free half hour session
I suggest the same to you.

    Your husband is wrong.

and so this weeks thread is killed off.. thats almost as traumatic as when they cut a 'failing' series mid-season.. (remember Firefly? and Defying Gravity? .. the American audience didn't 'get it' so they axed them)

You could have at least let it get running a bit..

I have a cat called Polly too... incidentally.

I wonder if reading the thread "Spending your life with someone you're not in love with ......" pushed bluelass into deciding to ditch "hubs".

It could be the first divorce instigated by MSE :D

From another of your threads, here's some more potentially useful information about dealing with the person you say is intimidating you at your house:
