Wrong Gas Meter

Hi,
I moved into a private let flat about a year ago. The letting agency had already established Scottish gas as the supplier for both gas and electricity. I received all my details for the electricity but not the gas. I checked with Scottish gas, they couldn't find the meter and then checked a few other things only to discover I have a business meter installed in a residential home. I notified the letting agency but they not appear to have done anything about it.
I've not paid or received a bill for gas for over a year and confused how it will work if i have the wrong meter installed and struggling to get it changed. Can anyone advise?
Thanks

A business gas meter ( that is a small business meter ) is exactly the same as a domestic one. They both use the same metric or imperial gas meters. Larger businesses will of course use much bigger meters, depends on how much gas is going to be pumped through it. Residential homes will use quite a big meter if that is the only meter in the property and the standing charges for that meter will be more than a domestic meter. You do not need a new meter but you need to get put on a domestic tariff and you will probably have to show your council tax billing as proof you are not a business..0
