I have a good credit with equifax, not so with some other for some reason, my question is, I applied for a littlewoods acc, and was accepted for £750 credit limit, so made an order and all was good, roll on 24hours and order still being processed, so. Phoned them only to be told I had an acc with them in 2007 and I've used all the same details phone number email and address and owed it £2500, shocked is not the word, don't know if maybe the ex wife maybe ran it up, 9 years ago will they come looking for the money now, will my credit be bad now:(

If you haven't acknowledged the debt or made any payments within the last 6 years, then the debt is likely to be statute barred, meaning Littlewoods would have no legal means of chasing the debt. If it has been 6 years, any record of defaults, late markers etc would have dropped off your credit file by now and hence why Equifax are rating you as Good (under their own criteria)
So if the above is true, then you shouldn't need to worry about getting chased for the money, but I would rule out getting any accounts in future with Littlewoods (and possibly any associated companies) as if they can still see their own records back to at least 2007, then they wont want to lend again to youMortgage = [STRIKE]£113,495 (May 2009)[/STRIKE] £67462.74 Jun 20190 -
Even though I've used the same exact details for above
Same email from 7 years
Same number
Same address
Thanks for your reply engineer a0 -
Can they do anything with trying to open acc with the exact same details:shocked:0

Hi Gazza67,
The fact that you used the same email address etc. doesn't make any difference to the Limitations Act at all. Engineer Amy is right and this debt is likely to be statute barred as long as there has been no written acknowledgement, payment or CCJ in the 6 years from the debt falling due, so try not to worry. If Littlewoods do try and chase you for the old account you could send them this letter in response - https://www.nationaldebtline.org/EW/sampleletters/Pages/Time-has-run-out-to-recover-the-debt-%28sole-name%29.aspx
