Can this situation affect credit rating?

Hello,

I asked my friend to get a sim only deal and he was very kind to get one for me.
Unfortunately, I was not impressed with the network coverage in my area and had to return it back within 14 days so that he didn't had to pay anything as part of return policy.

My friend now says that doing this favour for me has affected his credit rating that the score has gone down!! I'd like to know can this happen as he practically didn't borrowed any money as the product was returned back. Although, a credit search was performed when placing that order but this was in last year.

    That will happen.

A contract SIM is (has the potential) borrowing money if you go over the allowance.

The "score" should be back to normal after 6 months.
    :footie:
:p Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) :p Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money. :p

Thanks for your reply. Btw what do you mean by "if you go over the allowance"?
As I said in my post above, the product was returned within 14 days as per return policy.

Yes but he has made an application for credit. The new credit application will cause the meaningless score to temporarily drop.
