PIP Appeal outcome

I asked for a reassessment on 25th November due to a worsening condition. My current award was for standard rate of care and mobility.
I had my assessment at home on the 6th January and was informed on the 19th January that my award for care was to remain at standard but my mobility was to be increased to enhanced.
I asked for a MR on the 26th January and was informed that the decision stood.
I then requested an appeal of the decision and was given an appointment for today at 2pm.
At 11.30am today I received a telephone call from the Tribunal Services advising me that I did not need to attend my appointment and that my care award had been increased to enhanced to mirror my mobility award.
I was told that the Judge and Doctor go through that days cases early in the morning, they read all paperwork for each case and that if they feel the paperwork substantiates the appellants claims they can, and do,decide to make a decision without needing to see them.
Seems like I put a pretty good appeal forward!
Delighted with the award I thought I deserved but obviously would rather not need it.

Well done, it's nice to hear they can sometimes make the correct decision even if they took so long about it! Must be a relief to all be sorted out now too x0
