Sorry to see your spelling hasn't improved any "Phil".
My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016). :(

For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com

knowing how MSE actively sided with, and protected a convicted criminal in the appeals industry

I'd suggest you are over thinking this. IMHO MSE are not interested in having expert opinion but in clicks. Someone that comes on and makes outrageous/erroneous statements generates more clicks than a genuine expert.

BJ is an expert but won't get the recognition for a while. Referring people to the Newbies thread where there is a lot of expertise, does not generate clicks either.

Happy to point the blame at sloppy mods who are jack of all trades and masters in none of their subjects. You only have to look at some of the "advice" still in place well after matters have been decided at court.

Overcompensating by the person using that username very sloppily. Transparent postings. Presumably someone who hates Phil H...

MSE doesn't have Moderators but the Board Guides here do a brilliant job across several boards.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • What I've gathered from reading the replies to my question is that the main issue here is there are people who employ this concept but are not doing it in a proper, ethical manner and that is why they fail.

So presumably I register the company correctly, pay the associated taxes and do not try and cheat my customers there isn't much room for me to go wrong with this?
Please correct me if I'm wrong in saying this.

I don't expect the company to become huge, just a way of me to make some small change, do some good and add something extra onto my CV as I'm currently a student, and the idea of which came from seeing how vicious the PPC's are at my uni and local area.

If there is anything else I need to be aware of, I would very much appreciate being informed on.
  • My plan was to draft up a contract with the help of some law student friends of mine which give me power of attorney over this matter, allow me to give their details to the company etc
A payment of which is only given after a successful appeal, making them contractually obliged and liable for upon completion.

I would be appealing the tickets in the exact same way I have appealed tickets for myself in the past.

The only difficult bit would be retrieving the funds, and registering the company including tax returns

Get insurance too. You may find the other side don't play nice.

Quite a novel /over complicated initial approach.

Would you be a sole trader or a limited company?

What would happen if a customer received a court claim at any stage of the process.

Suppose the customer didnt pay - how would you recover the monies? Considering the subject you are studying at Uni - not sure how much you are taking in of the course to be honest !

Have you thought of a price point for the service and would this involve the two appeals?

How many PPCs have you had experience in appeals with?

The first parking at your uni was easy for you as they failed to provide a POPLA code.

PS it would be better if you hadn't registered with the forum using your real name as you are so so easy to find on social media. The Parking companies will be over you like a rash.

You may wish to request MSE change your username...

Yes, look at what happened to ... previously PPR'd poster who was an expert on Benefits and Tax Credits, and who still posts elsewhere.

You are talking about "a no win, no fee"
Power of Attorney does not enter into this.
    Read what it means
    https://www.gov.uk/power-of-attorney/overview

It would have to be a water tight contract and even then, if someone refuses to pay, then YOU will need to take them court, is that an option you want ?

This is not a band wagon to jump onto as the industry is filthy at the best of times
Solicitors who offer a no win no fee also will ask you if you have insurance that will cover this. It maybe no fee but it's not free

All for you making extra money but not on this one. People like Donald Trump could do it as he has huge resources. And if someone like that came along with the legal brains he employs, the PPC's would eaten alive
