Hi all I am in process of buying a new build, we complete next month. We went through builders mortgage broker and now they have sent me buildings and contents quote from payment shield. Was wondering what their reputation is from what I seen on Internet not that great?

We have had Mortgage Protection Insurance with Paymentshield for more than 15 yrs, In this time my husband has been made redundant twice, both times they have paid out the insured amount each month, until he returned to work. As long as you follow their rules there is no problem. Well worth it for peace of mind.0

Internet tells you very little as you only get comments from people with buyer remorse, or have had issues that are not really the insurer/provider but their level of understanding. Plus, people dont tend to post or comment when something does what they think it should. Negative bias exists.
Paymentshield is a good provider with a strong reputation.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. Made a claim on our contents cover in 2009 when our neighbour's house was struck by lightning.
It knocked out all electricals attached to the phone system and we got everything replaced with no problem - some we took what they offered, others we got cash to purchase our own replacements.
I changed a couple of years ago because I wanted trace & access cover which wasn't part of Paymentshield's offering on buildings insurance at the time.I am a mortgage broker.
