P60 and P45 now self employed

Hello
Your son is legally entitled to a payslip (ie weekly, fortnightly or monthly when the employer processes the payroll) and a P45 when he leaves.
He would not be automatically entitled to a P60 for this year (2015/16) as he was not employed at the end of the tax year by them. However, like you have been doing, he is entitled to ask for a copy. Bear in mind that employers have until 31 May to provide them.
Employers have to submit all details regarding gross pay, tax, NI etc electronically (RTI) after every payroll for each employee so HMRC will know all these details if you call them. RTI also applies for P60 returns so HMRC will have details of that too.
I hope your son sorts all this out. However, if he does go back to being an employee make sure he gets a payslip for each period he is paid and that he checks all the details, ie gross pay, PAYE (make sure tax code is correct) and NI and his net pay agrees with his bank statement0 -
Documents received today. After the line manager repeatedly requesting them and saying we would be taking it further.
Thanks for advice for just in case they didnt.I'm stressed enough over this - please don't add to it.
