ESA for Depression and Anxiety

Hiya,

I'm kinda new to this so I'm sorry if I'm not the first to post about this.

I have been on ESA for about 8 weeks now before that i was on JSA for about 4 months because I had to quit my job because of bullying.

I have been a manic depressive for about 10 years now and have attempted suicide on several occasions. Since leaving my job my anxiety and depression have got alot worse. I had to attend my Work Capability Assessment last week where I was a complete mess. I couldn't sit still and I had to literally dig my nails in my arm to try and stop myself from walking out of the waiting room. In the actual assessment I was in tears because I had to give them all of the information they asked for which made just made me worse.

Now I am waiting for my decision and I'm not coping well. The thought of them saying I have to return to looking for work is making me literally want to jump out of the window.

How long do people usually have to wait?

Any info would be gratefully received.

There is alot of things they can use against you when you have depression and anxiety.

Such as, Going to assessments dressed well and clean looking goes against you, Going to assessments on your own and finding your way about will also go against you.

Normally it can take up to 3 weeks or so for a decision to be made, Sometimes a decision maker will call you to give you the result and may ask for more information.

I had to have my mum come with me and in with me coz I can't even leave the house on my own. most of my time is spent with me in bed coz I cant cope with life right now.

I just want this whole period to be over.
