protecting cabling under decking

We have decking leading from the patio doors 8m into the garden. The garden slopes downwards, steps on 2 sides so there is space on the third side under the decking for rodents to crawl. Not only rodents but I have seen fox cubs disappear to the underneath. Access to block this is difficult.
We have decking lights, the cabling runs between each light under the decking. Can anyone suggest something animal proof that will protect the cabling from being chewed?

Some use metal-sheathed cables e.g MI. Lead etc again varying results...
Supposedly Nylon based conduit is better than traditional PVC based conduits doesn’t keep scent has good UV resistance etc Its sort of down to cost of alternative solutions against replacement of existing if they do have a nibble ?0 -

Problem is that decking strips run right to left, cabling runs north- south. How would you attach channels to the decking and then lay it?I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages, student & coronavirus Boards, money saving boards. Screw/nail the channels to the underside of the decking boards or to the bottom of one of the joists?
Basically wherever the cables are running now (are they loose or clipped as they should be?), fit calling over them and secure it.0
