You can only balance transfer between credit cards Argos is a store card.

You would have needed a credit card which allowed a money transfer to your current account that you could have then used to pay Argos.

Hi, Barclays often offer 0% offers on money transfers to your bank account. You could then use this money to pay off the Argos card.

That's incorrect. Many (most?) credit cards allow balance transfers from store cards, including Tesco...

The reason Argos balances can't be transferred using conventional BTs is because they have a 19 digit card number, not the requisite 16 digits and qualifying BIN.

Argos do two types of card, a store card and a Visa credit card issued by Vanquis Bank. The OP didn't say which sort of card they'd got.
