Bristol Airport parking - pricing mystery

I'm looking at parking costs at Bristol airport for a long weekend.

According to their website the gate price on the day for 4 days parking in the long stay car park is £52. The quote for advance booking for the same is coming up at £66.99. All the offers from Purple Parking/Holiday Extras etc are something like £56.99 reduced to £51.99 - i.e. the same as the drive up price.

Am I missing something here?! I'm used to flying from London airports and travelling by train there so this is a whole new world to me.

park somewhere in bristol if possible, there is a frequent airport bus throughout the night which costs £15 return. living in bristol and parking at the airport is just too expensive.

I'd recommend Goblin Coombe Farm parking. Used them in February for a long weekend flying from Bristol, they were good value and excellent service.

5 days prebooked is cheaper than 4.

looks to me like to drive up rate is £25 a day, not sure where you saw £52 for 4

We always use silverzone carpark when flying from Bristol, rather than the actual airport carpsrk itself. It's usually reasonable and there are regular shuttle buses which take you and your luggage to and from the airport, included in the price.

    Get a quote to compare.

Thanks for your replies. Not parking at the airport itself really isn't an option but thanks for the suggestions. And really my issue is that the pricing of "discounts" for advance booking in this specific car park is a bit misleading.

I took this up with the airport and they tell me that as their pricing is dynamic which means that at peak times and/or booking late it will sometimes be more expensive to book in advance (therefore ensuring you have a space).
While driving up may be cheaper, you are not guaranteed to find a space.

Interestingly to book the long stay car park for the end of October (which can hardly be called "peak" or "close to travel date") costs:
Drive up rate = £52 (according to price list on their website)
Advance rate = £51.99 - so a massive 1p discount for booking 5 months ahead!
With Purple Parking/Holiday Extras = £65.99 so actually much more expensive than direct with the airport.

Not really advisable, you never know when there might be roadworks scheduled on the residential road where you have parked, meaning that you come back to find your car has been lifted by the council. Also always the risk of resentful residents keying or damaging your vehicle which has 'stolen' one of their parking places in their street. May not be right but it has been known to happen ......
