Store Card PPI reclaim

ethereal

I apologise profusely if this is covered elsewhere but I cannot find any thread specifically relating to store cards PPI claims. Is there a sticky or thread with store card addresses on as most will have a third party lender like GE? Is claiming a store card PPI refund as easy as a bank claim? I.e, will they have my details on file and compensate accordingly without arguing like bank PPI or will I need to apply for all my statements and work it all out myself as I did previously with bank charges? I'm going to approach New Look, Dorothy Perkins and House of Fraiser. I no longer have these cards although I didn't specifically close the accounts, I just finished paying them off and cut the cards up. I do not have any statements either. Any help will be appreciated. :j

You don't claim. You make a complaint, outlining your reasons for mis sale, as with any PPI.
They will do the calculations of any redress.0 -
I found this newspaper article from January 2016, it might be useful to others who are thinking of complaining, especially if the cards are old.
"Jon Platt, founder of claims management firm JMP Partnership, explained that the Ombudsman does not always have the jurisdiction to consider rejected PPI complaints.
“Historic store card complaints will often be rejected by Santander UK, which has been by far the largest provider of store card credit after it took over GE Capital."
"What many consumers don’t realise is that the Ombudsman will only look at complaints attached to certain firms from certain dates.”
New Day bought the Santander store card book of business in 2013. So any first-time complaints made about historic store cards should be directed to New Day instead..."
"go to the underwriter who was supposed to check you were a suitable borrower at the time.
All store cards sold by GE Money before 2001 relied on underwriting from a subsidiary called Genworth Financial Insurance , which is still around. In fact, you can take your complaint to this company about historic store cards and it will be obliged to look again.
That is because Genworth IS under the jurisdiction of the Ombudsman for complaints dating right back to the 1980s. Platt explained: “There is an agency relationship here which makes Genworth responsible for all the misdeeds of Santander UK, as it is long-standing member of the General Insurance Standards Council.”
That means that Genworth can reject the complaint, but you can still take up the matter with the Ombudsman, thereby boosting the chances of a pay-out....
Any first-time complaints made about historic store cards should be directed to New Day.
If this is rejected by New Day, you need to send the same letter to Genworth at this address:
Genworth Lifestyle Protection
Genworth Financial, Building 6
Chiswick Park
566 Chiswick High Road
London W4 5HR
United Kingdom
If that doesn’t work, take your complaint to the Ombudsman. Good luck!"

Can anyone confirm if the information in this article is correct?0 -
Hello - do you know the address of the company New Day that they recommend you direct your first communication too?
Many thanks:mad:0
