Dumb question alert

I have Malwarebytes on my pc and have just upgraded to Avast pro , do these 2 programs do the same job ? I'm having issues with pages loading its either taking forever or not loading at all.

    If MBAM is on realtime protection The Pro version) disable it, otherwise reinstall it. Avast free is an av but the Pro version is realtime protection as an av AND for trojans (I think) so there could be a conflict.

    Yes Avast should give you enough protection on its own.
    Don't uninstall Malwarebytes, simply turn off real-time protection in it's menus. Then you still have it handy to run a manual scan from time to time.

    Avast has a really annoying firewall which can affect the speed in which web pages take to load. I've had the on a previous computer, it took me about a year to figure out what it was after trying everything.
