Hello,
wondering if anyone can help me understand this please;
So credit card statement was £2398.94 statement was 11th may and payment date is 6th June;
Made a payment of £1230 from savings (as had brought larger purchases) on 12th May so after statement date,
Obviously the current balance on card went down to £1168,
Can anyone help me understand what will happen with the payment due for last statement will it still be £2398.94?
Thanks

So, to be clear - you made a payment AFTER the statement was received, but BEFORE the payment due date ? If so, that payment will reduce the outstanding balance. On or before the Payment Due date you must make at least the minimum payment - though, since you've already paid roughly half of the balance you've already covered that. So you don't actually NEED to do anything further until your next statement - though you will incur interest on the outstanding balance. To avoid interest, you'll need to make another payment of £1168 before the Payment Due date.0

What Ebe Scrooge said is correct, if you can't pay of the remaining balance then you should pay off at least the minimum as stated on your next statement but not before then unless you are confident you can afford to pay another amount this month and at least the minimum between the 12th June and 6th July (approx).0
