Quick help re: TV repair

Hi all
Posted before about my TV developing a fault - was purchased August 2015.
Sent away for repair and they couldn't replicate the fault (standard as I'd told them it was INTERMITTENT) - anyway, suddenly after I sent photographs they found the fault and replaced the screen.
Got it back yesterday and set it all back up etc, fault is back - and now it's worse!
Girl on phone said it's a known fault apparently and under manufacturers warranty guidelines, they are allowed to repair 3 times before replacing - is this true?
Edited to add: was paid for on a Credit Card, does that make any difference?

Bought is to buy. Brought is to bring.

Yes they're allowed to attempt repair 3 times according to Sale of Goods act, which your TV would have been bought under. It should be the retailer you're talking to, rather than the manufacturer, but maybe you're past that stage. Paying by credit card may help you if they don't play ball after failing their 3rd attempt if it gets that far.0

This is the retailer I'm speaking to - Currys - unfortunately!
What a carry on this is - repair 3 times is ridiculous!

Under the Sale of Goods Act there is no limit to the number of repair attempts.hieveryone wrote: »What a carry on this is - repair 3 times is ridiculous!
You may well consider that to be 'ridiculous' and the legislators agree.
Under the Consumer Rights Act that has been reduced to one repair attempt.
But you asked about the number of repairs 'under manufacturers warranty '.
As a manufacturer's warranty is in addition to your statutory rights, the warranty provider can specify the terms of that warranty (within reason).
If the warranty says "we can attempt three repairs before considering a replacement", then that's all you can expect.0 -
I had a problem with my TV from Currys. They told me it's their policy to replace if they can't repair within a month. I got mine replaced after the month.0

They're just following the legislation, ie, any remedy must be complete within a reasonable time and without causing a significant inconvenience.I had a problem with my TV from Currys.
