Query for mother

My 88 year old mother has just rung me to say that her Win7 laptop is in the process of upgrading to Win10.
She's very anxious about 'change' and is worried about this upgrade making things difficult for her to use the laptop - she only knows what she knows (IYKWIM) and would struggle to get used to a different way of looking.
My laptop hasn't yet upgraded and I'm 100 miles away from her. Are there any major changes - to layout, use etc - which I need to warn her about? I anticipate going down to visit if there are!
Thanks

I thought the update was optional and not compulsory. It is possible to revert to Win 7 after in any case. Easiest to just try the above suggestion first though. It's different but still fairly easy to use now there is at least some semblance of the old start menu in place.0

She wouldn't know how to 'refuse' the upgrade, it's still in progress and I've not heard anything more from her apart from an email via her iPad. Fingers crossed!

If visits are impractical, you could use remote control softwareDon't you dare criticise what you cannot understand0

My mother has just phoned to say the laptop is still showing 84% and 39% configured - and this is from 9.am today. Is this normal?
it can be.... there were reports of the W10 installation taking 24 hrs in some cases... just don't turn it off, leave it on until it's finished......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple0 -
Once it's downloaded and installed, it'll ask her to agree to all the legal/licence stuff. Tell her to click no/don't agree and it'll revert back to Win7.0

Now got an email from her (via her iPad) that a message is across the screen in front of her usual desktop picture -Windows update.Windows 10 couldn't be installed. Unknown error encountered
Apparently she turned it all off last night in frustration. I'm going down next week so will have a look and see if I can help.
Thanks everyone.0 -
Thank goodness her iPad works. I wonder how many relatives are driving up and down motorways trying to sort out the mess MS has made of the W10 update.
'Fess up, MS: would you really do it this way again?0
