Hi,
I have a physical Nasdaq share certificate I would like to sell, but I can't find anywhere online that will handle that sort of transaction.
Can anyone advise?
Thanks

these days everything is electronic, may be you should try local banks and figure out what they suggest? but physical nasdaq certificate hmmm,, I think only nasdaq would buy it.We've removed your signature, if you don't know why please read the Forum rules or contact forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Which company are the shares for?
It's probably best to look at the Investor Relation section of their corporate website (have a look at the footer of the site if it's not immediately visible). This should point you in the direction of the company Registrar, who in turn will either be able to deal in the shares directly for you, or suggest a broker who will be able to undertake the transaction.
I'm not aware of any broker in the UK that will deal with US share certificates (I used to work for a brokerage firm and we got asked this a lot).0 -

Just leading on from what Atreyu said, the requirement the brokers have is for the shares to settle in CREST. Majority of foreign shares do not settle in CREST, which is why they are reluctant/won't accept them.
This is standard for most brokers/banks, so unfortunately you're not missing any tricks if you're having a hard time selling them.

Generally the US brokers are reluctant to take on non-US resident investors.
Your easier option (and cheaper phone calls!) would be to call a few of the major UK brokers who deal on the US market (albeit most of their dealing will be electronic only, of de-materialised shares, as Atreyu mentions). I have used TD Direct Investing, Youinvest, and IG.com who are all well established and trustworthy and offer dealing on the US markets without being particularly expensive, though I haven't dealt in paper US certificates which would be very much a niche activity here in the UK. Saxo is another who I don't use but have a decent reputation.
If you get no joy then contacting the company themselves as mentioned above would be a sensible next move.
Ignore the nonsense from Alex Adams88 about going through your local bank (you need a stockbroker not a bank, and most banks' brokerage services are pretty poor for UK trading let alone international) or trying to get NASDAQ themselves to buy it off you which seems laughable.
From the rapid fire posts from "Alex" on unrelated subjects I assume he's just a spammer trying to build up a post-count here before he's allowed to give us links to his favourite currency trading sites.0
