the price will really depend on when you are going.

my "go to" hotel is always room mate emma which is walking distance to placa de catalunya, las ramblas etc but you would need to catch a metro to sagrada familia, parc guell, camp nou etc etc

    me again.

forget room mate emma its a lot more than i remember paying for it.

oddly i was checking hotels for barcelona yesterday as i fancied a mini break and i noticed hotels at the moment, even in low season, are a lot more than theyve ever been.

consider booking through expedia and using topcashback where you can get upto 12% cashback also, but im not sure if its still on, but they had a special offer where you got 1000 nectar points on hotel bookings too, which is worth £10, its usually 200 points

    1,000 nectar points is £5.

Hotel Ingles was good enough for us. Fits all your criteria.

Fair enough i was just qouting the email i had about it, which stated £10, however that may relate to a potential value of £10 due to their regular doubling up days/weekends?

I stayed here just off Place de Catalunya which was very nice. Breakfast I thought was a bit pricey so we went to Bracafe on the corner for a bargain coffee and croissant.

As has been said, Barcelona is a large place and Sagrada Familia and Guell are not in the centre so there is nowhere that will be close to everything. Catalunya is good for airport buses, several metro lines and at the top of Las Ramblas.

Have been looking at this hotel myself, just over your budget, on Passeig de Gracia, 10 min walk to La Rambla.

We stayed at Casa Consell, short walk from Passieg de Gracia station which is pretty central and on a direct line from the airport. Excellent place - a sort of hostel environment but en-suite rooms, self service breakfast, free tea/coffee/toast anytime, lovely terrace for dining/relaxing with a beer. We had a room for 4 for around your budget at Easter.
