That's a lot of printer/scanner, for very little money.

Recently, there have been a number of threads, asking about cheap printers and scanners.
Being on the lookout for a new scanner, I spotted in Ryman, an HP Envy 4507 printer/scanner, for £29-99.
Having bought (primarily for the scanner) and installed it, I have to say, I'm impressed.
Not only does it print, scan and copy, but it has wireless printing.
I've set it up to wirelessly print from my Hudl 2, and it works perfectly.

Ouch! If they're the cheapest available, it could turn into a very expensive printer. Hopefully there are some generic replacements you can get for £1 or so.0 -
I have the 5530 and have been very pleased with it. £30 for the 4507 seems a bit of a bargain.
The original cartridges are about £15 for a set of low capacity (about 150 pages) - but then as set lasts me about 9 months (I don't do a lot of printing and managed to get some half price a couple of months ago through groupon).IITYYHTBMAD0 -
I don't see any especially cheap compatibles on eBay so cheap would mean refills which I've steered clear of since getting ink everywhere.
My own rule before buying any printer is to check that cheap compatible cartridges are available.0 -
I seldom print colour (and I have a mono laser for text documents), so a set of inkjet cartridges last a long time.
Even for just a scanner, £30 seems quite reasonable.0 -
I'm sure it is. Companies sell printers as loss leaders hoping to make megabucks on the ink. Thats why the likes of Epson give dire warnings when they detect compatible cartridges. One model at least had firmware updates to block the use of compatibles but mine just tells me I'm a naughty naughty boy.0

The trouble with really cheap printers is that they are usually cheaper than a set of replacement ink cartridges0

The main reason I bought it, was for the scanner.
I seldom print colour (I have my photos printed at ASDA), so a set of cartridges should last for yonks.0
