ASDA Online shopping, says delivered but it wasn't?

Hi,

So I ordered around 20 of the same item, they were collectible cards for around £75, the driver came to my door when they said they'd be delivered and told me all the items had been substituted and asked if I would want a refund, I said I would and he said it's fine and he took the items away, I was given no receipt or nothing to sign, he just came to the door with a box and left with a box

4 days later i'm still trying to get a refund, it's showing up as delivered online and although they keep saying they'll sort it, 5 days later I don't seem to have made any progress and it's a lot of money they've got - I haven't even been told that it's in the process of being refunded, I feel like I just keep being fob'ed off and I don't know what to do
They said they'd send the information to the store and sort out the full refund, do I just need to wait a bit longer or am I just being fob'ed off more?

Any advice would be great

When ASDA makes a successful delivery one has to sign the driver's electronic pad. As there is no signature there is no proof of delivery. If you have no success complaining resort to chargeback on your bank card.

If you don't want items to be substituted you can set an option to say so when ordering. That would hopefully prevent such issues in the future.

It's a long while since I have had to claim a refund from ASDA. When I did (admittedly for much smaller amounts than £75) they paid it promptly. It does take a few banking days for refunds to arrive but you should have received a statement that a refund had been actioned.
  • Thanks for the reply!

Thank god I didn't sign for anything so if they don't sort it on my callback tomorrow i'll just go into the store it was sent from and if still nothing i'll do that, thank you!

Yeah sadly it was my first time and didn't notice the substitutions thing, weird they did it for this, makes as much sense as ordering a DVD and them substituting that for a different one lol

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride
