Leak from upstairs flat, damage, who pays? Help

Tow weeks ago a damp patch appeared on my ceiling and wall and has continued to spread. My plumber came and investigated and was no obvious signs upstairs. The owner upstairs has since got someone in and they have replaced a pipe on the main cold water pipe as a precaution as there was some signs of water/condensation.
The damage is at least £1000. I only have contence insurance which I pay for and I through the management company I have building insurance. They are saying that the building insurance doesn't cover pipes in individual flats.
I'm really upset and don't know where to go? Please can someone help?

If the upstairs flat owner attended to the problem as soon as they were aware then unfortunately the problem is yours to deal with, most block insurances organised through the management co would be for the block & not for individual flats, first thing to do is ask for a copy of the block insurance policy & read through it, tbh if it's just going to be a case of stain blocking & then painting then this is something you could do yourself or even if you have to get someone in its not going to be anywhere near £1kI'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0
