lost toolbar on tablet

Something seems to have happened to my tablet's toolbar. The toolbar which used to appear on the top at the start of a Google search (and included back and forward arrows) has been replaced by a 3 horizontal bars icon (not sure what this is called) on the left.
And when a search is successful, a blue title bar appears along the top with an X in the left hand corner and that is all. No URL shown and again no forward it backward arrows.
Have I hit something by mistake and changed the settings? His do I revert back to old style toolbar with arrows and URL displayed?

It sounds like you have had an update to your browser or app.
The 3 horizontal lines are known as a Hamburger Bar and are becoming a recognised standard for a link to a further menu of functions.0 -
You might have accidentally hit F11, this maximises the window and removes things like shortcuts and status bars. This is one those things that used to really p1ss me off years ago, as I could never figure out what had happened. It's really easy to hit F11 when your reaching for the backspace key and on a compact keyboard (like at my last employer) I would normally physically remove the insert and F11 key, covering the holes with gaff tape.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

I've seen this a few times on my laptop with firefox. I have to click on the 3 lines , then customize and show/hide toolbars from where the missing toolbar (file,edit,view,etc..in my case) can be ticked. Sounds something very similar. What browser?0
