Competitions that require skill/effort - do they exist anymore?

I dabbled in comping back in the 90s and actually won a few things, the best being some expensive garden furniture. Most comps back then required some degree of skill, for example to pen a rhyme or write in so many words why you think you should be the winner, something I'm actually not bad at! These days it seems to be a case of simply filling in a form online, liking a Facebook post or perhaps answering a ridiculously easy question, meaning the volume of entries is so much higher and the chances of winning so much slimmer. I've been entering loads of comps like this daily for the last few months and, not surprisingly, have not won a thing (so far!).
Do skill competitions still exist and, if so, where do I find them??
Thanks x

There are not many, if they are posted on the forum they should have "effort" in the title, although in some/many cases an effort competition then has a random winner which rather undoes the point of making any real effort.
Judged effort competitions create much more work for promoters with far less brand promotion (number of entries, social media exposure etc) than having easy to enter competitions with random winners.0 -
Thought as much, makes sense. Pre-internet I guess even filling in a form, finding a stamp and posting it was too much effort for many people!1

SuperluckyDi is a big advocate of effort competitions.

i love effort comps and have been lucky enough to win two of them in the last couple of months. I am always on the look out for new ones but they seem to be few and far between sadly.
I am waiting to find out about one that was supposed to have announced the winner in March but they still haven't - when I asked a friend to enquire on the company's Facebook page (I'm don't use FB) they said they are having 'difficulties' with it as one of the judges wasn't responding to them!
So, as mjm says, it's more effort for the promotors too.0
