It will be likely to be around the same dimensions it was in 2006.
From memory, these books are plastic and paper. I'm not aware of such materials growing in any noticeable way.0 -
With those materials it is more likely to have shrunk, but only marginally.0

Ive still got mine from the 60s, its got 14p in it (old pence) has this grown, or should I put it in an antiques sale?0

I've got a National Savings Certificate from 1965, issue value £1. It was due to mature in 1970 at £1 and 5 shillings (£1.25). I keep it for sentimental reasons.0

Your best bet would be to write to NSI in Glasgow and ask them to write up your book with all interest accrued since it was last written up, presumably 2006. To answer your question, the balance will have grown but nobody on here can say how much, only the NSI computer can work that out. It depends on the type of account and the various rates which will have applied since 2006.0 -
We have a Conservative government now, would passbooks from the Labour era still be valid?0
-
Ah is this one of the old blue plastic covers with a transparent 2cm edge?
Wish I still had mine - used to save £1 weekly at the post office. That was of course when we had £1 notes and post offices, and everything was in sepia.0 -
I have just redeemed my Ordinary Savings Account with NSI.The ordinary account no longer exists so it had become a residual account, not having been used since 1970's.
My husband also had an old account from the same era.
These accounts held £10 and £5 respectively. Interest of few pence was credited.
Current interest rate is stated as 0.10% gross/AER.
