Fairfx card query

I have a pre-loaded Fairfx euro Mastercard. I have not used it for a while and it was loaded when the exchange rate was 1.21. I am going on a 'booze cruise' to Calais. We have pre-ordered the wine to collect when we get there. The invoice is in sterling. You can pay by cash or cheque to avoid any exchange rate charges. If I use my card to pay will I be getting a better or worse deal considering the rate I got in the first place? I can't work this out!!
