Scrim tape on corners

Carrying on from my plastering thread, a question for the plasterers.

When reading up on the advice regarding applying scrim tape to corners, they all say tape internals, but never external and use beads instead. Well.... On the few external corners in my house, there is no beading on any external corner. They are all formed in a cement (lime & pozzolan ?) with a thin coat of lime plaster on top. I'm now looking at putting a very thin skim coat on top and have some 100mm wide scrim tape - Is there any reason why I can not use this tape on the external corners ?

No, but it will help little and give zilch protection from knocks.

I think back to the early 80's, I bought a 1935 semi, all walls had 1/2" dowel as the corner bead. Forward thinking back them methinks??
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed
