hi guys
im looking for some advice on what to do with 22k, i have started to look for a house to buy but as im on my own im not going to get a very good mortage so think im going to be saving for a while longer.
i have today opened a help to buy isa with virgin 3% and have put in £1200
i also opened a help to buy savings account with virgin at 1.20% and was going to put the rest in there as i dont know where else to put it so i can have easy access.
do any of you guys know of anywhere that will give me more of a return then what i already have. it would have to be a easy access as if i find a house to buy soon i would have to be able to get the money.

Hi,
Don't assume just because your single, you won't be able to afford to buy. Before you start applying for accounts and potentially damage your credit score, go the bank and have a word with a mortgage advisor, you might be surprised. Depending where you live in the country will be the biggest factor in being able to afford a house.0 -
I have already seen a mortage advisor and i know what i can get and its not a lot.0

Have you got a TSB account paying 5%, nationwide paying 5%, lloyds paying 4% or tesco, bank of Scotland paying 3%, even Yorkshire bank/claysdale 2% beats the virgin 1.2%. If you want it all in one place and don't mind paying fee's maybe Santander might be worth a look.
Either way, for most people, it's easy to beat 1.2%0 -

Credit score is irrelevant, it's credit history that matters.
And don't talk to the bank, talk to a broker.0
