DLA to PIP advice

Options
Hi everyone I have now received the dreaded letter to apply for PIP for my son who is 20.

My son has a severe learning disability, autism, type 2 diabetes, and a very rare genetic disorder of which there are only around 12 cases in the whole world (according to the geneticist) he has a deletion on part of his chromosome 6 and it is also a prada willi phenotype,

My question is when I fill out the form and send it off should I send any evidence with it or will the DLA send evidence that they already hold on him ?

I have a report here from when he had his autism and learning disability assessment and I have a letter from the geneticist saying what his deletion is but as far as any information about his deletion there isn't much as it is so rare, I have some leaflets given to me from the genetic nurse saying what traits go along side the deletion, should I also send this?

I am not very hopeful of getting PIP because of all the bad story's I have heard.
Any advice would be gratefully received
Sammy

Just wanted to check, do you continue to receive DLA until a decision on PIP is made or will the DLA run out as there is no end date on it, it was an indefinite award.
    Thanks

As long as you submit the Pip application and is received by the date they requested it back by, then the dla will run until 28 days from the first pay day after the date of the decision. This applies whether or not the applicant is entitled to PIP."

See if the police will have a 'friendly' word, as this is harassment.

When they call, if you don't have caller display, accept the call, don't answer and put the phone down, without cancelling the call so they waste their money.

When they phone you, they may ask if you want the evidence that you used in your DLA claim, to be used in the PIP claim too.

My son (16) changed from DLA to PIP in January and i didn't send in any additional evidence (with the exception of a few more recent bits).

Yes I did the phone interview yesterday and they did ask that question and I said yes I would like it passed over.

I have spoken to my GP surgery today and they have done me a letter with a list of all his medical needs so I will include this as well as his Autism diagnosis and social worker report.

I have also had an ESA forms through today so I also have that to do so I will include all this information into that also.

If anyone has any other information that might be useful to me then I would be most grateful.

    Many Thanks
