How many years can an unpaid Excel parking ticket chase you for?

Received two parking tickets from Excel July 2014. Did not pay, did not contact Excel, POPLA, I simply did nothing. Last received a debt collector letter from Rossendales threatening a 'field visit' to recover payment January 2014. Ignored it, and heard nothing since until this morning, debt collector letter from dcbl.
Given that these tickets are approaching 2 years now, was wondering how long do debt collectors have to claim their money? 2, 5 10 years?

The period is six years - and with Excel, I have been there.
You will file increasing frantic, increasingly red letters. Then will come the offers to settle for less. Then a gap of time. Then it will start over. Threats of action, reminders they will take your children and sell them into slavery, you'll never get credit again, etc. If you have been unlucky (or stupid) enough let them have a phone number, phone harassment will occur.
UNLESS you get a real (they send "examples" sometimes) lodged with a court set of claim papers (you check with the court to find out it's real) ignore all debt collector correspondence. DO NOT IGNORE court papers.
Presumably you are too late for any appeals process, so all you can do is wait.
In my case, after one last flurry 5 years 7 months later, it ended. I still have my credit score and the slave trade never got the children.Under no circumstances may any part of my postings be used, quoted, repeated, transferred or published by any third party in ANY medium outside of this website without express written permission. the debt collectors have ZERO years to claim the money
only the principal can issue court proceedings in the small claims court, or a solicitor etc on their behalf
with Excel its likely to be BW LEGAL at the moment , on behalf of Excel
so Excel have 6 years to chase the alleged debt through an MCOL, or their legal representatives can do so on behalf of Excel
debt collectors are powerless to do anything except write red letters threatening armageddon, so ignore the debt collectors
DO NOT IGNORE an LBC or an MCOL though0
