I use FoxIt reader - I find it less intrusive than acrobat

I also have its 'plug in' for Firefox

    1. The pdf document may be protected and the print option disabled (but in this case the print option will be shown but greyed out).
    2. More likely, you are looking at the pdf using Firefox's internal pdf viewer - browser integrated pdf readers are well known to be pretty basic ones.

I use PDFXchange Editor - excellent, far better than the Adobe products.

Does that mean that i just need to get the Firefox "plug in " for it to work, or i need the "plug in " as well as Foxit reader ?

    Thanks

I agree that it does sound as if it is Firefox internal viewer in use displaying the PDF in the browser. Can you just download the PDF then you can open it with reader. Ctrl+p is printing the browser screen not the PDF by itself. Can you see the file download icon in Firefox (down arrow at top right of screen?). Probably opening in Firefox by default if you do not have a reader installed.

Foxit Firefox Plugin installs a simple Foxit Reader into the Firefox web browser, this free add-on allows users to display, view, edit and print PDF documents in the browser.
