Not a one off then. I too would have gone with them if they just honoured the tariff I signed up to. Definitely an energy provider to AVOID!

Can't comment on the CS, but I applied for a quote through the website and they phoned me a couple of hours later with a price considerably higher than that shown on the comp sites. When I queried it I was told that that tariff had been increased 4 days ago. However, it was still higher than the unit prices displayed on their own website. As noted above, not very professional: someone launching an energy business should be able to afford the services of a proof reader to get their their very basic website right.
Nevertheless, I would have gone with them had the original tariff quoted on CEC been correct.

I had a letter, arrived Saturday 3rd Aug 2019, from Greenfield Recovery Ltd.

It is for 'All known creditors' of Cardiff Energy Supply Ltd Co No: 09054885. It states that the company's directors have placed the company into voluntary liquidation.

Today I got a statement from Cardiff Energy which mentions no such thing but does say they currently owe me £41.60.

Guess I'm best off searching for a new supplier asap?

Been with them since 16/05/2018 and I signed up for 12 months fixed so I should have been looking for something new anyway. Last statement says I was being charged 19.05p a day standing and 3.16p/Kwh

CESL website still up and running ??
  • They have gone and customers transferred to SSE

If you switch now of your own accord you may not get any credit that you are owed.

Wait for SSE to contact you and then switch if their tariff offer is not acceptable to you.

@DawnCrush - I would suggest sixfoot4 was correct and not spreading fake news ;)

It's ok, the MD has created a new company.

    KIND ENERGY LIMITED
    Company number 11877067

Look out for them launching soon!
  • This should be a good test of ofgems new tougher entry tests.

"Directors and major shareholders of companies applying for a licence, as well as senior managers, will also have to show they are ‘fit and proper’ to hold a licence."

Managing 7 (soon to be 8) companies that have dissolved in the past 4 years should be a sign that they are not 'fit and proper'
