hi, just wondered if someone could give me some advice...
I had an account with orange that I opened in January 2012. In November 2012, I transferred it over to EE.
Anyway, I had never looked at my Credit File for years until I logged on for a 30 day free trial at one the other week...
I discovered Orange had placed a default on my file in September 2014 for £135.
I contacted them and was told by an operative that it was an error and my balance was 0 and that she would contact their credit department to have my file updated. I then waited for her to contact me and she never called back.
I emailed their Executive Office today and they told me I never had a credit agreement with them, however I did owe them money and that the default was correct. The woman also put this in writing and suggested i do a SAR for £10.
She said two DCAs had been chasing it, but when I asked for a deed of assignment, she said it didn't exist because I never had a credit agreement...but she said lots of places like Sky etc put info like this onto Credit files.
Does any of this sound correct?

if you don't have a credit agreement the debt didnt exist. look at sending them a prove it letter.
definitely challenge this as it sounds like all their ducks are not in a row.
if it is in dispute complain to the credit reference company.
a note needs to placed on your file and they need to investigate and ask the company regarding.0
