Hi
I've just received mortgage paperwork from the solicitor to sign including a deed. What happens next? Is that the exchange or does that happen at a later date? Sorry, I'm new to all of this!
Thanks

No, sounds like it's getting close though.
Exchange can only happen when the solicitors for all the parties involved have all the necessary paperwork signed by their clients, all checks are completed and all parties have agreed on the exchange and completion dates.0 -
Your ;ibrary will lend you a book free that explains this, and everything else in the process.
Or google.
But no, that is not exchange. It is your solicitor getting the contract ready and signed so that it can be exchanged when everything and everyone else is ready.
This might happen soon, or in a few months.0
