best dual fuel for a second home

Any advice for a holiday house with only 6 months of usage using dual fuel gas and electricity with which provider.

Look for separate gas and electricity providers and switch, when not in use, to suppliers with low/no standing charges.

Ebico is the simplest of all, ethical too, one rate only for gas and two for electricity, day/night rate, doesn't matter how you pay its the same.
No standing charges at all.

Consult a comparison site and find the best deal(s) for you

If you use the CEC, you'll have to sign up again using a new email address compared to your main home (assuming you have signed up to the CEC for your main home already)

But massive unit costs!!!

No price reduction from Ebico, despite almost every other supplier (inc SSE, their own provider) reducing theirs in recent times due to the bottom fallen out of the oil market, notwithstanding it has now started to rise again since.
