I changed the details on my Sainsburys direct debit to my new bank account today and stupidly only saw the payment date of the 16th (Monday) when i had completed it! I have also made an additional payment to cover the DD but it said it takes 3 working days to reach them.
I've been a tit haven't I! Whats likely to happen?

Give then a call and explain the situation - you could make a payment over the phone.0

Why do i !!!! things up all the time, i'm an idiot, there goes my 0%0 -
Have you still got your old account? It may have been too late for them to stop DD anyway.
Even if DD and/or payment don't make it in time, phone up and explain. IME most card companies are lenient with first offenders.0 -
Still have old account. I'm hoping they have already taken the money ready for Monday.
Thanks for the reassurance guys, what would I do without this site!0 -

Or have you just given Sainsbury's the new details?
If it's the latter then it should just get taken from the old account as normal this month.0 -
I have just changed the details on the Sainsburys account.
Fingers crossed!0 -
