I wouldn't consider buying a Saab myself - I did test drive one years ago and it had zero personality.
I've had an MR2 Roadster and that is a nice little car which can be got cheap.
The MX-5 is a timeless (well 'til they brought out the new one) classic.
The MR2 & MX-5 are two seaters though.
But it is great driving with the roof off (with my current car I have to take it off and put it in the boot, not just fold it down).0 -
I agree that a motorbike is the best "open top" motoring, but not good enough for a 4 person holiday, but then again, neither is an MX5 or similar.
When I win a lottery I will be straight to the showroom for a Bentley Continental GTC!0 -
I wouldn't say a motorbike is the best open top motoring, as you are wearing a crash helmet.0

Can't see any reason not to own a Saab convertible.
They were always miles better than the GM underpinnings would suggest.
All the bits you sit on and touch will be Saab.
I have owned a couple of cheap Saabs and they were quiet and comfortable.
There is also a good forum and parts backup is pretty good.
Some service consumables will be Vauxhall, especially if you go for a diesel. (Which I wouldn't in a Saab convertible to be fair)0
